Preschool Gymnastics
Our goal in the preschool program is to develop the whole child, mind and body.
Our preschool classes meet twice a week for 1 hour each time. We feel that once a week at this age is not enough time. An hour class allows us to play a game and get to all events. We have found that by having our preschool classes come twice a week we don’t have to review as much and there is a higher retention level. Our prices are comparable to a once a week class. An added bonus – more for your money!
Me & My Friends: 18 months – 3 years
Movement education is offered to preschoolers ages 18 months old to 3 years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the class. A variety of skills will be taught on the balance beam, spring tumbling floor, uneven bars, mini-trampoline and trampoline.
The basic premise for this age group participation is to heighten total body awareness. Depth perception, eye-hand and foot coordination are just a few of the areas each lesson is designed to explore. A child in this age group has a great deal of energy and their focus of attention must be constantly guided and directed. To do so successfully, we will change and modify tasks and skills often. There will be more individual instruction to help develop their coordination and attention span. We build confidence through positive experience. All this, and you and your baby are having fun together!
Tumbling Tots: 3 years – 5 years old
Preschool classes are available to both boys and girls ages 3-5. Students learn coordination skills, gymnastic skills, and develop social listening skills. Although emphasis is on having fun… this class is a skills class and not a play group.
These classes are designed for those children developing the ability to spend a little time away from mom and dad. You will be amazed as your child becomes self assured and confident! We build their attention and focus by guiding them through safe instruction and fun learning. They become ready to perform real gymnastics skills that will be taught in conjunction with other readiness skills. Your child will learn on equipment developed for their age and size. At this age a child’s rapid maturation physically and socially requires a class atmosphere that promotes and challenges this maturity.
